Hello and thank you for taking the time to view my portfolio. I create simple editorial illustrations that provoke reflection. Sometimes, all that is needed is a character interacting with an object and a little surrealism to evoke a powerful emotional response.
My process often begins with a story and a brief which I receive from an art director. I'll start creating an abundance of roughs and select the the best 3 which I feel best tells the story and matches the theme. These are submitted to the art director for feedback. After any necessary changes are made and approved, I move towards creating a final and delivering it. Sometimes, small tweaks are needed before the final is submitted again and ready for publishing.
Commissioning a new illustrator can be a little intimidating at first, so I do my best to make the process and steamlined and enjoyable as possible. I believe communication is a key component to effective collaboration. I also work digitally to increase efficiency and shorten turnaround times.
