Psalm 91

I was recently commissioned by a family friend and community pastor to create an illustration for one of his favorite chapters in the Bible, Psalm 91. Upon reading the chapter to myself, there was an overwhelming amount of beautiful imagery and concepts to pick from. I knew I had to be selective in which verses would encapsulate the theme of the chapter in its entirety. The ones that spoke to me most were 91:4 "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge" and 91:13 "You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent".

Below is my sketch for my Psalm 91 Illustration. I wanted an airy composition that breathed more than usual, giving a sense of walking-on-air-ness.

Below is the completed illustration. I chose a triad color scheme of blues (e.g., the background), yellow (e.g., the lion), and reds (e.g., the feet).
